Is this really England's best team?

England: Michael Vaughan (capt), Alastair Cook, Andrew Strauss, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Tim Ambrose (wkt), Stuart Broad, Ryan Sidebottom, Monty Panesar, James Anderson.

Vaughan is on the way out and will soon be replaced by Collingwood. Strauss is in rather dubious form. Anderson is a bit wild. Cook is also in a lean patch.

Robert Key is likely to be recalled to the squad at some point and if Flintoff regains fitness he'll probably replace Anderson. I'd love to see Bopara get back into the side as well.

England are big favourites to win this series, but I think it will be a much closer battle than a lot of people are envisaging.

I just don't rate Robert Key. Soon they'll be bringing back Ramprakash and Hick.

Anderson . . on his day is great, it's just the other four days and the rest of the series that are the problem :))

I'd rather they brought in someone "new" . . going back to those that haven't cut it at this level seems pointless these days and especially against NZ.

As I heard Mike Atherton say the other day, we should beat NZ with Geoffrey Boycotts mother in charge !! :))

I agree though stick Bopara in.
